Toronto’s skyline is a major North American urban skyline shaped by rapid vertical development and a waterfront setting on Lake Ontario. It combines landmark structures with a large concentration of office, residential, and mixed-use towers.

Key landmarks and development

The CN Tower is the defining silhouette element, while First Canadian Place and other supertall towers form the core. As of late 2025, SkyTower at Pinnacle One Yonge became the city’s tallest building. The skyline evolved from low-rise structures into a modern high-rise cityscape over roughly 150 years.

Urban distribution and scale

Most skyscrapers are in Downtown Toronto, but major clusters also exist in North York, Yonge–Eglinton, Scarborough City Centre, and Humber Bay. Toronto has 111 completed skyscrapers over 150 m and 32 over 200 m as of 2026, making it the third largest skyline in North America after New York City and Chicago.
