Music career

Way co-founded My Chemical Romance in 2001 and became its lead vocalist, rising to fame in the 2000s emo and pop-punk scene. The band split in 2013 and reunited in 2019. He launched a solo career with the album Hesitant Alien in 2014.

Comic book work

Way co-created The Umbrella Academy and The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. He also founded DC Comics' Young Animal imprint and wrote its flagship series, Doom Patrol.

Adaptations and publishing

The Umbrella Academy was adapted into a Netflix series, reaching a global audience including Canadian viewers. Way’s comic work continues to influence pop culture through various publishing ventures.
