Early life and career

Born in Warren, Ohio, in 1969, Grohl began playing in punk and hardcore bands before joining Nirvana as their drummer in 1990. His time with Nirvana ended when the band disbanded in 1994 following Kurt Cobain's death.

Foo Fighters and other musical work

After Nirvana, Grohl formed Foo Fighters, which became his main band and one of the most successful rock acts of the 1990s and 2000s. He has also recorded or toured with Queens of the Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures, Probot, and other projects.
