Chopped is an American cooking competition series that premiered on Food Network in 2009. Hosted by Ted Allen, four chefs compete in timed rounds using mystery ingredients, with one eliminated each round.

Format

Chopped centres on timed cooking rounds in which contestants must incorporate all of the ingredients placed in their baskets. After each course, judges eliminate one chef until the final round determines the winner.

Production and broadcast

The series was created by Michael Krupat, Dave Noll, and Linda Lea, and is presented by Ted Allen. It premiered on Food Network in January 2009 and has continued for multiple seasons.
