Abhishek Sharma
Abhishek Sharma is an Indian international cricketer who plays as a left-handed batter and slow left-arm orthodox bowler.
He represents India in T20Is, Punjab in domestic cricket, and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.
Early life and domestic career
Abhishek Sharma was born in Amritsar, Punjab, and developed through Punjab's junior cricket system. He captained India Under-19 to the Youth Asia Cup title in 2016 and was part of the 2018 ICC Men's Under-19 World Cup-winning squad. He made his List A and first-class debuts for Punjab in 2017.
Indian Premier League career
Sharma entered the IPL with Delhi Daredevils in 2018 before moving to Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he became a key aggressive opener. His left-arm spin serves as a secondary skill, but his batting is the primary weapon.
International career
Sharma made his T20I debut for India in July 2024 against Zimbabwe and quickly established himself at the top of the order. In 2025 he set India's highest individual T20I score with 135 against England and reached the ICC Men's T20I batting ranking number one in July 2025.
